We understand that services are stretched with meeting the needs of individuals with complex needs. We also know that local responsive services with trusted clinicians are important to help individuals achieve their goals. We have worked with many very experienced SLP's with complex clients.
We have experience in problem solving solutions for individuals with complex needs and the strategies required to help them progress in their communication. We can work with individuals, families and their current SLP to provide a consultative service to help with information, assessment or trouble-shooting around issues relating to AAC.
Funding and how it works
We can be funded through NDIS capacity building funding and charge at our regular hourly rate.
We will negotiate with you on the goals /question / road block that you are wanting support with. If you have a Speech Pathologist involved we ask that they are involved in the consultation progress.
We can then support you and the clinical team to work through and understand the options and make a plan for the next steps forward.
How we could help
We can provide a flexible service dependent on your needs including:
Initial exploration and demonstration of the range of AAC options and language systems available.
Support around exploring alternative access for AAC for individuals who cannot point.
AAC assessment / Assistive Technology request with local SLP follow-up.
Support in moving forward to the next stage of AAC language development.
